Response times
NRTA responds within ten business days by providing the records, estimating when they will be available, or explaining why a record is exempt from disclosure. Large or complex requests may be fulfilled in installments.
Fees
There is no charge to inspect records or to receive electronic copies of records that already exist in electronic form. Paper copies are $0.10 per page after the first 50 pages. Staff time is charged only when state law allows and only after you approve an estimate.
Exemptions
Some records or portions of records are exempt under state law, such as personnel files, attorney-client communications, security plans, and proprietary information submitted by bidders before award. When information is withheld, we cite the exemption and release the rest of the record.
Records retention
NRTA keeps records according to its adopted Records Retention Schedule. Board agendas, approved minutes, and adopted plans are kept permanently.
