Regional Bicycle Network Expansion
48 miles of new trails and separated bike lanes connecting Ridgeview, Millbrook, Lakemont, and Cedar Falls to schools, jobs, and transit.

The Regional Active Transportation Plan identified gaps that prevent people from bicycling between communities. This program of projects fills the highest-priority gaps in three phases, beginning with segments that connect to schools and transit centers.
Phase 1 segments (in design)
- Millbrook Creek Trail extension, Station Avenue to Millbrook Community College (2.8 miles)
- Lake Street separated bike lanes, downtown Ridgeview to Lakemont (5.1 miles)
- Cedar Falls Rail Trail, Main Street to County Road 40 (4.4 miles)
Phase 2 route alternatives are being evaluated. A public survey on Phase 2 route preferences is open through October 16, 2026.
